Roz Girvan

Roz Girvan is a Melbourne-based songwriter with a long-standing presence in the city’s roots music scene. She performs both as an Americana duo with her partner, fiddle and mandolin player Greg Field, and with her guitarist, mandolin playing son Roy Girvan.

Roz has graced stages such as the Brunswick Ballroom, Caravan Music Club, and Northcote Social Club, and has shared performances with artists including Vika & Linda Bull, Rebecca Barnard, Suzannah Espie and Gallie. She has also appeared at the renowned Port Fairy Folk Festival.

Her songwriting was recognised by Brian Wise of 3RRR, who selected her work for inclusion on a Melbourne sampler showcased at the Americana Festival in Nashville. Songs from her albums (East, Ordinary Heart and Pearls Before Swine (with band High Horses) have been played on both ABC Radio and community radio throughout the country. She has performed live on ABC Radio Melbourne, 3RRR and 3PBS.
